CASE STUDIES

Case Study #1: MPL Fabrications

Point of Contact: Debbie Gurney

MPL had taken up what seemed like a fantastic offer from a major telecoms operator to have a server installed. Whilst the price was very competitive, the service was terrible. There were problems right from the start when the company performing the installation lost MPLs payroll whilst installing SAGE. The equipment supplied did not work properly and the services where outsourced to various companies. MPL never seemed to speak to the same person. It was a very frustrating period with a lot of time wasted. Eventually MPL decided to cancel the contract and they asked PS4B to rectify the situation.

PS4B made a thorough evaluation of MPL’s requirements and provided a small business server to meet their needs. The installation went smoothly and the PS4B engineers took time to familairise MPL with the new equipment.
PS4B are providing ongoing support of the PC’s and Server.

“The price offered by the telecoms company was really low and PS4B could not match that price. However PS4B helped us to access grant funding which enabled us to proceed and we are now benefiting from their excellent, personal professional service. PS4B have remote access to our system which means they are able to help us with most things whilst we are on the phone. If they do need to send an engineer they are always prompt and the engineers are always polite and helpful. It really is a brilliant service; we have no complaints and would highly recommend them’.

Case Study #2: Central Precision

Point of Contact: Diane McKetterick

Central Precision were using PCs linked peer to peer. As the number of PC users and the amount of data grew, the PCs began to run slower and slower. It had become so bad it was affecting day to work. Central Precision contacted PS4B following a recommendation from another company, to see what solution they would suggest.

PS4B made a detailed assessment of how Central Precision where using and sharing data and understood their business needs. PS4B then discussed a small business server solution and the services that would be provided, including remote access to email and files for working off-site. The solution would enable better sharing of files as well as improving data security and providing backup of all their information. Central Precision were impressed by the knowledge shared during the preliminary meeting and the type of service offered and proceeded to contract PS4B.

“The service provided by PS4B has been excellent from the start. The remote access is great and we really do not have to worry about our IT anymore. We just contact PS4B and they sort us out really quickly. The service is reasonably priced and it saves us a lot of time.”
